Kalamitay collects and processes information, some of which is referred to as “personal data”. We attach great importance to the respect of privacy, and only uses data responsibly and confidentially and for a specific purpose. On our website, there are 2 types of data that may be collected:

 

Data transmitted directly

We cannot guarantee the content or privacy practices of any external websites and does not accept responsibility for those websites.

 

Use of data

The data that you send us directly through email or contact form is used for the purpose of contacting you again and/or for the purpose of your request.

The data collected may be used by us for direct marketing communication, to offer you promotions, products and services that are more likely to interest you.

The data transmitted while processing an order can be communicate to a third part, we provide only the information they need to perform their specific services, for example your payment details to our payment service provider to process the payment and your contact and address details  to the carrier which will deliver your purchase.

Your data may be shared with our hosting and maintenance providers for the site and our dematerialized solutions for the collection of personal data. They can also be shared with other service provider that we use for the purpose of offering you the best experience with our company.

Web analytics data is collected in anonymous way (by recording anonymous IP addresses) by Google Analytics, and allows us to measure the audience of our website, visits and possible errors in order to constantly improve the user experience. This data is used by Kalamitay, the data controller, and will never be passed on to third parties or used for purposes other than those detailed above.

If you choose to not share your personal data with us, or refuse certain contact permission, we might not be able to provide some service you asked for.

Legal basis

Personal data is only collected with the user’s mandatory consent. This consent is validly collected (buttons and check boxes), free, clear and unequivocal.

 

Retention period

We only store your personal data for as long as necessary for the purpose the data was collected for.

This means that personal data collection based on your consent will be deleted if you withdraw your consent.

Personal data related to your user account, is retained until you delete your account.

 

Personal data we process in the performance of an order with you, are generally subject to various legal retention obligations. They will be deleted when they won’t be necessary anymore. The law

obliges us to retain this data for tax audits and financial audits for up to ten years.

 

Sensor data collected from your device is deleted upon your request.

Security

We are committed to protecting the security of your personal data. We use a variety of measures in order to protect your personal data from: Unauthorised access, Improper use or disclosure, Unauthorised modification or alteration and Unlawful destruction or accidental loss. We secure access to all transactional areas of our website using https and access to your personal and sensitive data is secured by SSL encryption.

– request erasure of your personal data, so we will delete or remove all your personal information where there is no good reason for us to continuing process it, except your email address and full name in order to record that you have withdrawn consent.

– amend your communication preferences in order to advise us and update about the type of information you would like to receive from us or completely opt-out from marketing communication.

Where we store and process your personal data

Sometimes we will need to share your personal data with third parties and suppliers outside the European Economic Area (“EEA”).  It may be transferred for the purpose of our services like delivering to you, your order. It may also be processed by staff operating outside the EEA who work for us or for one of our suppliers. By submitting your personal data, you agree to this process. We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this privacy notice.

Our policy towards children

We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of 18. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under the age of 18, we will delete that information from our files.
